Khandel are a registered charity who work tirelessly to improve the lives of the vulnerable and disadvantaged families in Khandel and the villages surrounding it, located in the desert state of Rajasthan, India.

One billion people; a sixth of the world, live in extreme poverty. The consequences of such deprivation are inequality, powerlessness and lack of freedoms that we take for granted.

Khandel are committed to reducing these inequalities and a powerful start is to ensure continuing education of the young.

What we have achieved

Since 2007 Treacle Moon has pledged and guaranteed the minimum sponsorship of 60 children annually focusing on long-term development projects including access to clean water and sanitation, better healthcare, education and housing.

This has given hope and a future to young people who would otherwise face a life of exclusion and deprivation.
